By the time he came up to her she had regained her composure and stood up straight, arms folded across her chest as she shook her hair out of her eyes and gave him a smirk which plainly read- that'll teach you to call me shrimp.

Her eyes glittered wickedly, knowing that the servants lives were so cut off from the 'masters'. The guards would pay no attention to the threat, and the prince would never find out that they all knew. Avril knew these things, she was a servant herself, and their lives were separated. Normally that would make her angry, make her kick out, because of the unfairness, the unequality. Democracy - she spat on democracy.
But now she was glad of it, because she was annoyed at Llakani. Despite the fact that she had been exploiting it, him being ashamed to be seen with her made her - sad. That she was a half-blood, made everyone look down on her, and even her best friend didn't want to know her in public. Deep down she knew this was unreasonable thinking, that she could be killed if their friendship was known, but she pushed it aside. One glance was sent at Llakani, pained, but also angry, before she turned on her heel and darted away down the corridoor, easily winding her way through the labyrinth of passages, trusting her instincts. As she came to the door of the ship she pummelled the button impatiently with her fist, yelling obsceneties at it as it slowly lowered, before bolting down it and jumping off the end before it fully touched the ground.

Inside her head she went to a different place, a field. It was growing dark, stars pricking out in the sky above her. And it was so quiet, suddenly, that her ears seemed to be singing. She closed her eyes and turned on the spot, feeling her way into the darkness, shaping it, creating life from it

As she ran she began to change, smoothly, and with one final fluid leap she morphed into a ghostly equid. Her dial was tossed high as she galloped, her snorting breath spiralling away from her on the cold night air. Her hooves drummed the earth, like thunder rolling overhead as her eerie white pelt glinted in the moonlight, like the point of a spear. Pale tresses whipped out behind her, tugged by the zephyr caused by her speed. A quick glance over her shoulder showed that the Terminator had shrunk to a flickering dot in the distance. Her haunches dropped, hooves digging into the ground as she tried to stop, but her momentum carried on, forcing her to leap forwards and slow to a trot, shaking her head as she circled and came to a halt under a tree, snorting and coughing as she dragged air into her lungs.

Exaustion shuddered through her, nose almost touching the floor as she rested her hind foot, huffing out through her nares. Her thoughts flitted briefly towards Llakani, wondering what he though of her sudden outburst. But he should be used to them by now.
And her morphing? She never knew how, she just did it. Maybe it was a combination of being human, so being part of the race who had this power, and also having the power of the Aalah Khiyume in her blood. But she never wondered about it for long. It was one of those things that happened, and she never troubled to ask herself why. Was it not possible for beings to accept things, and leave them alone, insead of trying to understand, saying they just wanted to know, and then fiddling around with it, and destroying another part of life, another generation, another race, another world. To do what they were planning to.

Avril forced her head to raise, fixing her pools on the new orb in the sky, that gave her a strange comfort. From some books she had learnt about this new planet, and recognised it as the moon, and knew that it only reflected light. But what did it matter- it was second rate, like her, not as big, or as bright as the sun, but there was more power in one of it's rays than the sun would ever have.

Angel rays

She thought to herself, and began to hum inside her skull, orbs still fixed on the light.

We will be strong, we will be strong
I know we have the strength to carry on
We have the strength
I know my rights from wrong
I know you’ve lost I’ve won
We will be stronger
We will be strong
And getting stronger every day
Believe me when I say it
There is no other way to convey it

He responded Avril’s smirk with an evil glare – no, he wasn’t really in the mood to smirk back right now. Lord, his mother might even kill him if she would find out. She had a hot temper, a very hot temper, and him being the only heir wouldn’t help him this time. If he would end up being ripped apart by the queen’s royal claws, he would know who to blame.
That girl didn’t know what she had just done. His long legs carried him after Avril, easily finding his way through the great ship. At a certain moment, a few minutes had probably passed by, Llakani’s stomach started protesting again. It probably thought they were flying again. The prince didn’t exactly like the looks he received from AK he passed by. Of course they all recognised him. He so hated this. All of this. He hated Avril, he hated this ship, he hated Earth, and he hated his mother. Had he forgotten anything? Didn’t think so. He slowed down to a walk, and acted as if nothing was wrong. Now he could still do that. As if the guards would ever keep their mouths shut. Soon enough the whole ship would know. Oh, he was sure of it. He might as well kill himself right away.

He reached the door, which was still open, and now knew for sure that Avril had left the ship. He saw a human form changing into – something. Somewhere in the distance. Muttering curses under his breath, one hand on his stomach, the young prince started running again, his gaze fixated on the horizon, where he had seen the strange creature that had once been Avril, disappear. While running, he made sure not to miss a single detail of his surroundings. So strange, yet, so familiar at the same time. It was freaky. Llakani slowed down to a halt, and flopped down on the turf, in the middle of an empty – something. Fascinated by the feelings of life, and peace – though the threat of war hung in the air – he closed his eyes, and lost himself.

As her heart-rate slowed and calmed under her white pelt she closed her eyes again, staring into the darkness for a few seconds, before beginning to change herself back. She was going too fast, hurrying through the procedure. Her breathing was too fast. If she made a mistake, she could end up with a foot for a head or something. Forcing herself to slow down, Avril concentrated on the stark white colour of her skin, the shape of her lithe body, the graceful curves. She began adding features, her dark, penetrating eyes and long wavy hair, making sure every detail down to the shape of her nose was correct before breathing out slowly and opening her eyes.

Holding her small hand out infront of her she flexed the aching joints in her fingers, her knee joints cracking like a gunshot as she stood up carefully, testing her legs to see if they would take her weight. She wobbled slightly, still tired out from running, and the effort of transforming, but she quickly checked the dagger up her sleeve, before setting her features in grim determination and starting to walk with her long, loping strides back towards the ship. It was unwise to be out of the ship at all in these unknown lands, let alone at night.

She hadn't realised just how far she had come, and after a while her bones and muscles were complaining loudly, her breathing ragged and sharp. A hasy mist of tiredness covered her eyes and Avril stumbled along blindly. THen her foot caught on something large and heavy and she was pitched forwards to land in a quivering heap on the ground, her face buried into the grass. A few seconds passed before she turned her head slightly and saw Llakani lying beside her. Evidently she had tripped over him.
